Clē is a multifamily residential project conceived as an extension of Los Angeles’ layered urban fabric, blending density, light, and outdoor living into a single architectural gesture. The building responds to its context not through a singular monolithic volume, but through a stepped composition that gradually recedes from the street, softening its scale and creating a porous relationship between the city and the domestic realm.
The massing strategy allows each floor to shift and open toward views of the Hollywood Hills while maximizing sunlight across the terraces and interior spaces. This cascading geometry transforms the building envelope into a sequence of inhabited outdoor rooms, where balconies and planted terraces become an integral part of daily life rather than residual spaces. The architecture balances efficiency with generosity, using form to mediate between urban density and residential comfort.
At ground level, the project incorporates an elevated public park that extends the public realm into the site and anchors the building within the neighborhood. Inside, the residential units are organized to prioritize light, openness, and clear spatial relationships. More than a conventional housing block, Clē proposes a model of urban living where architecture, landscape, and city life are woven into a continuous spatial experience.
